DIY Homemade Ice-Cream in a Bag

DIY Homemade Ice-Cream in a Bag

Don’t have an ice cream maker? No problem! Just use a Ziploc bag...

What you’ll need:

  1. 2 tbsp sugar
  2. 1 tsp vanilla
  3. 1 cup coconut milk (I prefer full-fat A Taste of Thai brand)
  4. 1 cup of salt
  5. Lots of ice
ice cream

DIRECTIONS: In a quart size Ziploc bag, put sugar, vanilla, and coconut milk, then SEAL TIGHTLY. In a separate gallon size Ziploc bag, add enough ice to fill it about half way and pour salt on top. Seal bag tightly and give it a good shake to mix the salt around the ice cubes evenly. After a few good shakes, open up the gallon size bag of ice, and place your quart-size bag filled with ice cream ingredient inside. Then, SEAL BOTH BAGS TIGHTLY SO NOTHING LEAKS!!!

Place bags inside of a towel or blanket. Fold towel over the bags so you can no longer see or feel them. Pick up the towel with the bags inside and shake vigorously for 5-minutes. Don’t stop shaking and don’t peek before the 5-minute are up! It’s a heck of a workout, trust me. Once finished, open the towel and reveal your homemade ice cream! Serves 1-2 people...

XOXO,

-Abbie
